November is a good time for reflection. Before all the holiday bustle and activity that surrounds December, there’s an opportunity to look back at the year that has been, and to be appreciative for all the things and people in our lives that make life worth living.
For those of us here in the spina bifida community in the Washington, DC, area, there is much for which to be thankful. The Spina Bifida Association of the National Capital Area is an active network of men and women providing support and encouragement to those dealing with and caring for those with spina bifida. There are regular opportunities to gather together to support and to socialize. SBANCA maintains a loan closet with wheelchairs, walkers, and other equipment that is free for use.
But more than anything, those of us involved with SBANCA are grateful for our members – a diverse group of people who are committed to improving the lives of others in the spina bifida community. Thank you for being a part of what is happening in the National Capital area. We appreciate all that has been done in 2017, and we look forward to great things in the coming year.
